What makes this Mount Kenya itinerary distinctive?
Mount Kenya routes cross forest, moorland and exposed alpine terrain. The best preparation includes day hikes with elevation gain, footwear already used on long walks and layered clothing for cold or wet conditions. Point Lenana is a nontechnical trekking objective, while Batian and Nelion are separate technical mountaineering ascents.
