Gisuma

Gisuma Overview

The monarch of Rwandan coffee is Gisuma.

The village is barely visible on the map, nestled in the slopes and sylvan valleys that rise to the Nyungwe Forest. But because of its delicious beans and strong caffeine-infused drinks, it has grown to be well-known among baristas and coffee lovers all over the world.

The ethical Gisuma co-operative organization, which currently leads the sector, has raised the take-home pay of nearby growers in the area by as much as 45% when it first started.

Even if you’re not a fan of the dark liquor, Gisuma’s surroundings are stunning to see: rolling fields of coffee bushes that peak and drop in harmony with the surrounding mountains.
