Day 1: Nairobi – Chogoria Gate – Lake Ellis (3,400m)
Begin your Mount Kenya adventure with an early morning pickup from your Nairobi hotel. After a scenic drive through the central highlands, you’ll arrive at Chogoria town. Then, after registering at the park gate, start hiking through lush bamboo and montane forest. Eventually, reach Lake Ellis for dinner and overnight camping beside its tranquil waters.

Day 2: Lake Ellis – Mintos Camp (4,200m)
After breakfast, you’ll continue hiking through open moorlands while enjoying stunning views of Lake Michaelson and the Gorges Valley. As you gradually gain altitude, the trail opens up to reveal high-altitude vegetation and rugged mountain terrain. By early afternoon, arrive at Mintos Camp, where you’ll spend the night.
