You will sail on the Indian Ocean in a motorized dive boat or a glass-bottom boat for your snorkelling adventure at Mombasa Marine Park, offering you an unobstructed glimpse of the life that teems under the surface. If the tide is low, you will stroll through the hardened coral rocks of the receding beach waters before setting sail and snorkelling above the coral reef and seagrass areas. You may especially experience the underwater world while snorkelling without disturbing the marine creatures.
You glide lightly across the water’s surface, mostly unnoticed by the aquatic life only a few feet below you. A larger form emerges from the shadows just beyond you as you watch the vibrant display of colours, textures, and shapes that move in and out of the coral. For a brief moment, you ponder whether the stealthy creature is hunting its prey or is simply passing through as you have a front-row seat to this spectacle. You can find it challenging to maintain track of the several fish species you observe or even to keep an eye on one particular fish that attracts your attention on the reef because of all the activity there.
