Kibale National Park is located in western Uganda. It is known as a lush tropical rainforest. The park is recognized for its rich biodiversity and large primate population. About 795 square kilometers are covered by the park. It is often called the “primate capital of the world.” A wide range of primates is found here, including chimpanzees, red colobus monkeys, and L’Hoest’s monkeys. Chimpanzee trekking is offered, and visitors are given a rare chance to see these intelligent animals in the wild.
A variety of ecosystems are supported by Kibale National Park. These include lowland and montane forests, wetlands, and grasslands. Over 375 bird species have been recorded. Many mammals, reptiles, and amphibians are also found. Conservation and scientific research are strongly supported by Kibale park’s unique environment. Eco-tourism and cultural exchange are promoted through its connection with nearby communities. Economic benefits are provided to local people, and environmental awareness is encouraged.
